Walking In Donegal PDF Print E-mail

24-walking-deer_150x0Walkers visiting Donegal are spoilt for choice in terms of the variety of wonderful trails and sights available to them. These include easily accessible paths along riverbanks and shorelines, the wild and hauntingly beautiful mountains of Glenveagh National Park...

Acres of woodlands and forest and perhaps the ultimate experience, the challenge of reaching the summit of Europe's highest sea cliffs at Sliabh Liag. Many, but not all, of these routes are signposted and do not require local knowledge of hill walking whilst other routes will test the skills of the more experienced. The flagship walks are Donegal's two national Waymarked Ways: the Bealach na Gaeltachta network is 290km in length and comprises four main loops which stretch along the county's western seaboard and the three islands of Arranmore, Tory and Gola. In the southwest, the Bluestack Way winds its way for around 60km through the heart of the Bluestack Mountain range.
